A major report on the public relations industry warns of the danger of search engine optimisation (SEO) agencies encroaching on the responsibilities of PR professionals.
This echoes a previous DWPub Sporadic which exposed the risk to the communications agenda posed by SEO companies.
The 117-page report, published by Key Note, points out that search engines "play a crucial role in any online activity" but warned: "By allowing SEO companies to dominate this particular communications field there is, many perceive, a danger."
The author of the report used the Response Source Journalist Enquiries System to solicit the views of many PR practitioners and this input is used to illustrate the main issues facing the PR industry.
DWPub Sporadic readers can get a 25 per cent discount on the report price of £840 by emailing cstover@keynote.co.uk or calling 020 8481 8717, quoting PRKN06.
