Online press release distribution looks set to become an essential part of any PR campaign this year following almost 50 per cent growth in 2006.
The volume of releases appearing on the Response Source/SourceWire Press Release Wire increased by 46 per cent in 2006 compared to the previous year.
Growth in the second half of 2006 was particularly strong, suggesting online press release distribution will become even more important in 2007.
The driver behind the growth appears to be the search marketing and direct-to-consumer benefits of having press releases visible online - particularly on the social media.
