An exciting day today, not only have I just moved in to my new office (the new HQ of Daryl Group), but it's also the launch of The Media Bookshop.
Yes - I know moving into online book retailing sounds crazy. But as someone who is passionate about the media I reckoned a specialist media online bookshop would be brilliant.
When I was a at
journalism school I remember getting all the books I needed from a dusty old
book shop on Fleet Street. There was something very special about that place,
but of course it disappeared years ago. I kept thinking it would be great if
there was a media bookshop online, combining the expertise of a traditional
specialist bookshop and the convenience of online shopping. So here it is.
On the site you'll see booklists for specific media
disciplines such as advertising, digital marketing, film, graphic design,
journalism, photography, public relations, web design and more. The booklists
were put together with input from experienced media practioners and will be
regularly updated to include new releases and suggestions from customers.
Let me know your top five media books - include them in a comment to this post or email them to me at daryl@darylgroup.com.

The Media Bookshop could be a genuine time-saver for a lot of us. Thanks.

Is there any chance you could have a freelance category?
I have a book out in this category - the very modestly titled The Greatest Freelance Writing Tips in the World.
This has had some great reviews and feedback from established and not so established freelance journalists but as there's no PR or marketing in place I am still plugging away trying to get it noticed.
Best wishes with your new venture.

Hi Linda,
A freelance category is an interesting idea - maybe we'll introduce one if we find enough books to fill it.
In the meantime your book is now listed in the 'journalism' section - http://www.themediabookshop.com/BookItem.aspx?item=9781905151172
