While you were broadening horizons for media outlets, www.Poynter.org was doing the same for journalists. An article in the E-Media Tidbits section of The New Poynter Online website was suggesting that journalists should look at their blogs as "Media Career Insurance."

Good idea, as far as it goes. I offered a few more ideas for journalists who need some online visibility.

Among them: get yourself listed on the Daryl Willcox Publishing Journalist Directory.

My suggestion is in the "feedback" section at the bottom of the article.

By the way, Daryl, thanks for optimizing all the links in the Journalist Directory to be ultra search engine friendly. Google's ability to find and index what I write has improved tremendously since I started using the NEW version.
